Minecraft Bedrock Server Manager for Windows
SupportedWindows server · Built-in Bedrock compatibility
Minecraft Bedrock dedicated servers use their own Windows package and compatibility model. Gone Wrong Servers downloads and prepares that official package, then explains which Bedrock devices can connect directly and where consoles require separate custom-server steps.
Four outcome-focused playstyles and nine guided controls cover the common decisions without hiding the native settings. Java Edition remains a separate edition and is never presented as interchangeable with a Bedrock world.

What you get
Minecraft Bedrock, handled
Supported capabilities
- Official Windows Bedrock server download and extraction
- Family Adventure, Creative Workshop, Defaults, and Hard Survival playstyles
- Plain-language gameplay and world controls
- Built-in Bedrock device compatibility guidance
- Separate identity, access, files, and advanced settings
Bedrock compatibility is built into the server protocol rather than controlled by a cross-play switch. Windows and mobile Bedrock players can join directly; console custom-server entry follows separate device-specific guidance. Java Edition is a different server edition.

The real server package, files, and network path
This is the server-specific layer behind the guided experience. It identifies the actual package and the data that must survive an update, so you can verify what the app is managing or follow the complete manual guide yourself.

Edition and cross-play
Vanilla BDS serves Bedrock Edition clients. The current official download page advertises Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, mobile, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, but Java clients are not native participants.
Mods and extensions
BDS uses Bedrock resource packs, behavior packs and optional Script API modules—not Paper plugins or Fabric/NeoForge mods.
Administration
Use local console/stdin plus the official allowlist, op/deop, kick, permission, save-help and stop commands; do not claim native RCON or permanent ban controls that current docs do not list.
Diagnose the exact symptom
Minecraft Bedrock Edition troubleshooting
A Bedrock client on the home network joins the expected world, but a friend on another internet connection times out or never reaches the server.
Minecraft Bedrock LAN Works but Internet Join Fails
Trace a Bedrock Dedicated Server from a known-good LAN join through UDP 19132, Windows Firewall, router NAT, double NAT and CGNAT.
Open the tested checklist →
Joining reaches BDS but returns “Outdated Client” or “Outdated Server,” often immediately after a client or dedicated-server update.
Fix Bedrock Outdated Client or Outdated Server
Resolve a Minecraft Bedrock protocol mismatch without overwriting the only world or mixing retail and Preview server/client channels.
Open the tested checklist →
BDS starts normally after an import, but players enter a new seed or the expected world/add-ons/player state is missing.
Bedrock Server Imported World Not Loading
Find the real LevelDB world root, correct a case-sensitive level-name mismatch and recover a Bedrock import without deleting the source.
Open the tested checklist →
A panel shows Player 1, Ban or RCON actions, but BDS cannot identify the player or complete the operation and returns a generic service error.
Bedrock Allowlist, Operators, Ban and RCON Limits
Use the Bedrock commands that actually exist, separate player and script permissions, and avoid fictional ban or RCON controls.
